I ask you, Governor Perry, to stop your state’s execution of Edgar Tamayo. Mr. Tamayo is scheduled to be poisoned by the government of Texas next Wednesday, 01/22/2014, for the 1994 murder of Houston police officer Guy Gaddis.
Edgar Tamayo is a Mexican national and Texas has been implored by senior officials of this country and abroad to cancel this execution. Mr. Tamayo, along with over fifty other Mexican nationals, is on death row despite never having been informed of his rights under both national and international laws to legal consultation with his embassy at his arrest. Additionally, in 2008 psychologists diagnosed him as ‘mildly mentally retarded’, making him ineligible for execution under rulings from the United States Supreme Court. Governor Perry, you must stay this of execution of Edgar Tamayo until so your state can conform to the laws our country and our international treaty obligations.
Former Attorney General of the United States Janet Reno, as well as myriads of scholars, can find no evidence that the death penalty deters capital crimes. In fact, the warden of the famous Sing Sing prison believes that the death penalty exacerbates the violence in his facility by setting an example of cold-blooded killing. Recent studies show that the largest increase in capital crimes is in the state of Texas, the state which executes the most people. As for vengeance, that is the Lord’s, not the government’s.
Please, Governor Perry, stop this killing of Edgar Tamayo. If this execution goes forward, look around this country for the black armbands worn and the church bells tolled in protest of this injustice.
Thank you.
OK Kenneth Hogan scheduled 01/23/2014

I ask you, Governor Fallon, to stop your state’s execution of Kenneth Hogan. Mr. Hogan is scheduled to be poisoned by the government of the state of Oklahoma next Thursday, 01/23/2014, for the 1998 murder of Lisa Rene Stanley.
Mr. Hogan and his friend Ms. Stanley were enjoying a marijuana smoking session when an argument started up. Escalated by their inebriation the altercation ended with Mr. Hogan stabbing Ms. Stanley to death in what he describes as self-defense. The drug use rendered both of them incapable of controlling their behavior and thus not responsible for the outcome. Kenneth Hogan needs treatment for his drug abuse, not poisoning to death. Please, Governor Henry, step in now to allow Kenneth Hogan to get the medical treatment he needs.
