!!!STAY!!!: 11/08/12: Michael, PA

The third circuit court stayed the execution of Hubert Michael Jr. in Pennsylvania yesterday just hours before it was to be carried out.  They returned the case to a lower court, holding that when that court issued a certificate of appeal it should also have stayed the execution.  The stay was later upheld by the United States Supreme Court and gives Mr. Michael at least two more weeks to live.
