I ask you, Governor Daugaard, to stop your state’s execution of Donald Moeller. Mr. Moeller is scheduled to be poisoned to death by the government of the state of South Dakota next Tuesday, 10/30/12, for the 1990 murder of Becky O’Connell.
Donald Moeller is committing ‘suicide by cop’, asking a federal judge to dismiss all remaining appeals available to him. A psychology professor who examined him testified that his abusive upbringing and years of solitary confinement have made Mr. Moeller suicidal. Further, South Dakota intends to poison him with drugs they obtained from compounding companies, drugs which the Federal Drug Administration considers unapproved for use in the United States of America. Governor Daugaard, you must not allow South Dakota be complicit with Donald Moeller in his suicide.
Former Attorney General of the United States Janet Reno, as well as myriads of scholars, can find no evidence that the death penalty deters capital crimes. In fact, the warden of the famous Sing Sing prison believes that the death penalty exacerbates the violence in his facility by setting an example of cold-blooded killing. Recent studies show that the largest increase in capital crimes is in Texas, the state which executes the most people. As for vengeance, that is the Lord’s, not the governments.
Please, Governor Daugaard, stop this killing of Donald Moeller. If this execution goes forward, look around this country for the black armbands worn, and the church bells tolled, in protest of this injustice.
Thank you.

I ask you, Governor Perry, to stop your state’s execution of Donnie Roberts. Mr. Roberts is scheduled to be poisoned to death by the government of the state of Texas next Wednesday, 10/31/12, for the 2003 murder of his live-in girlfriend, Vicki Bowen, when she refused him money to feed his crack addiction.
Donnie Roberts grew up suffering debilitating child abuse. Early on he developed addictions to alcohol and drugs. He was in the grip of his crack addiction when he committed this crime. In the United States of America we treat our ill, not kill them. Governor Perry, you must stay this execution to allow time for your state to catch up to the requirements of humanity and the laws of our land!
