!!!STAY LIFTED!!!: Jonathan Green executed in Texas
The hard working executioners in the Texas attorney general’s office persuaded the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals to lift the stay of execution granted to Jonathan Green earlier this week (see below). He was poisoned last night, 10/10/12, only hours before his death warrant would have expired.

As reported last night on the Star-Telegram website, U.S. District Judge Nancy Atlas in Houston granted a stay to Jonathan Green, 44, to allow time for review of his appeal contending that he is not mentally competent to be executed. Mr. Green has been diagnosed with schizophrenia by the medical personnel in the state prison system of Texas.
