Armband Alert: 03/28/12, Jesse Hernandez, TX
Please wear a black wrist band tomorrow, 03/28/12, in silent protest of the execution of Jesse Hernandez by the government of the state of Texas. Mr. Hernandez will be poisoned to death for the 2001 murder of 11-month old Karlos Borja.
Jesse Hernandez is certainly culpable in this case, but not for Karlos Borja’s death. Mr. Hernandez struck the child causing him to be sent to the hospital. There he was put into an induced coma. Later he was taken off life support and died, but not before the hospital had given the child a lethal dose of phenobarbital. Experts reviewing the medical records have also concluded that the hospital took Karlos Borja off life support too soon. By its negligence and malpractice the hospital actually killed little Karlos Borja, not Jesse Hernandez. U.S. District Court Judge Keith Ellison denied pleas for a new trial but wrote that he lamented doing so because of “disturbing uncertainties” raised about his guilt. With these well documented questions about the guilt of Jesse Hernandez in the death of Karlos Borja, Texas must stay this execution to allow justice and the law to catch up to the Texas executioners.
Jesse Harnandez was poisoned to death last night, 03/28/12, for the murder of Karlos Borjas, in spite of the fact that medical experts determined the child’s actual cause of death was a toxic dose of pentoparbitol at the hospital and being taken off life support too soon.
